Jeanette was born in Bristol, Tennessee on April
24, 1918 to the late Frank and Grace Smith
Routh. She lived her entire life in the Bristol
and Bluff City areas, she attended Avoca
Christian Church. Jeanette and two of her
sisters performed as the Routh Sisters on WOPI
radio in its early years, and they performed on
the Grand Old Opry stage. They also traveled to
various places performing on radio and live
shows.
